Dave Stimple, an unfocused mattress store owner, is having issues connecting with everyone around him. He arrives at the shop one morning to find the local health and safety people have shut him down. Bugs, huge bed bugs and lots of complaints are cited as the reason. Dave is really confused and his relationships with his wife, friends, and his own humanity seem to be devolving and increasingly distracting anomalies begin to take over his reality. Eela is an aspiring playback singer and single mother. She has given up all her dreams to raise her only son. Mariano has decided for the first time in his life to take a risk, he sells his share of the land in Burgo de Osma to a brother and helps Juanita pay for the mortgage of her house in Santo Domingo just when she was about to lose it to the bank. Upon arrival, Juanita confesses she has two children, Mariano confesses in return to have taken advantage of her illegal status in order to get her to stay with him.
